Artist Rental Application

Call for Artists: Working Studio Space available for rent in the New Berlin Chamber Visitors Center.

The Berlin Maryland Chamber of Commerce has purchased 14 S. Main St, commonly referred to as the 'Old Post Office'. The Main Street building will serve as home to the town's new visitor center. This is a very large building, and while hosting the Visitor Center and Chamber Office, the Chamber is also offering 6 artist stalls for rent.

The artist stalls are approx 10 x 10 in size and will have lockable sliding gable doors. The Chamber Building is located in the Arts and Entertainment district allowing the Artists to create and sell their art from the stall tax free. Artists will have access to their stalls at all hours to be able to work when convenient. It will be up to the Artists to have their stalls manned and open in order to sell their work during Visitor Center hours. The Visitor Center will be unable to sell artists work other than what is in the front display area. The Visitor Center will offer a small artist display area that any Artist may or may not take advantage of, at no additional rental cost, though a commission of 30% will be taken if sold. The rent per stall will be $250 (recently reduced) a month plus a percentage of utilities. Artists will be required to sign a one year lease. Artists will be required to have applicable business license.

Interested Artists must mail completed application, artist bio, (5) pictures of original art work and non-refundable $25 application fee made payable to Berlin Chamber of Commerce. Please note applications will not be processed without filing fee. Once all applications have been received, a committee may take up to one week to review all applicants. A confirmation email will be sent out by the Chamber.
